Mind the Gap: Age-Related Differences in Students’ Perceptions of English Foreign Language Teacher and Motivation

The present paper addresses the age issue in context of learning English as a foreign language instructional settings. Our attention has been directed towards examination potential differences students’ perceptions their teacher and motivation relation to age. A total 592 participants attending higher grades elementary school participated research. results have shown that perception characteristics competences varies Although students perceive be most competent area competences, younger seem put more emphasis on teacher’s personal over professional competences. study also indicates motivation, with an accentuated decline offers valuable information for teachers policy makers emphasizes need further adjustment teaching methodology various groups.
